M.V Rudra Singha

 A private cruise aboard the M.V. Rudra Singha on the Brahmaputra river is an experience that will last a lifetime.     JORHAT - GUWAHATI

    DAY 1 ARRIVE JORHAT – DIPHLU RIVER LODGE, KAZIRANGA
    Arrive Jorhat. Transfer to Diphlu river lodge. O/N at the lodge on jungle plan.
    Diphlu River Lodge is the ideal getaway for a never-before intimacy with the natural world. This wonderfully homely lodge is fantastically located on the banks of the River Diphlu and is adjacent to the Kaziranga National Park. Check in after arrival. Relax till departure for your jungle safari in the afternoon.
    You can visit the Haldhibari Burhi Mai Mandir while on safari.

    DAY 2 DIPLU RIVER LODGE – WILD MAHSEER RESORT
    Early morning, depart for your jungle safari. After you return from the safari transfer to Wild Mahseer Resort, Balipara. Wild Mahseer is a unique heritage stay for visitors to experience mindful tourism while living within the biodiverse haven of the Eastern Himalayan Botanic Ark. You can enjoy Tea Garden tour / Factory visit (subject to availability), Shrini Yoku meaning Jungle Bathing, Botanical Trail, slow cycling, indoors and outdoors games and unlimited cups of garden-fresh tea with your loved ones.     DAY 3 BALIPURA – UZANBAZAR GHAT IN GUWAHATI 
    After breakfast, depart for Guwahati to start your river cruise experience. Arrive at Uzanbazar Ghat in Guwahati and climb aboard MV Rudra Singha. By 12 Noon start sailing towards Peacock Island, one of the smallest inhabited river islands in the world. The beautiful Umananda Temple on the island is dedicated to Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati. After Peacock Island, start sailing towards Aswaklanta Temple, an 18th century hilltop temple. Explore this temple and then walk a little distance to visit a nearby Hindu Vaishnavite Monastery of Auniati Satra. Return to your boat to enjoy a lunch cooked by your private chef. Start sailing downstream and stop close to the village of Vijaynagar. Time permitting; explore this small Assamese town on your mountain bikes before returning to the boat in the evening. 

    Enjoy Dinner on board. Overnight on the boat. 

    DAY 4  M.V. RUDRA SINGHA
    Sail upstream this morning to the silk-weaving town of Sualkuchi. Explore this town on your mountain bikes and witness the entire process of silk manufacture, from cocoon to spinning and dyeing, and to hand-weaving into exquisite saris (mekhela chador). Re-board the boat and start sailing upstream to Guwahati up to Uzanbazar Ghat; disembark and go on a short walk along the quiet riverfront or visit the local market and emporium. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant before sailing upstream towards Ganesh Pahar. 

    Enjoy Dinner on board. Overnight on the boat.

    DAY 5 M.V. RUDRA SINGHA – GUWAHATI
    Today morning during breakfast sail downstream to Guwahati and disembark at Uzanbazar Ghat, Guwahati. Transfer to Taj Vivanta, Guwahati. Explore Guwahati on your own. Overnight at Guwahati

    DAY 6 DEPARTURE – GUWAHATI AIRPORT
    After check out departure transfer to Guwahati Airport to board return flight.

    DAY 03 POBITRA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY 
    After breakfast, arrive at Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary and ride your mountain bike up to the park’s entry point. This small park has a sizeable population of one-horned rhinos, and we shall be unlucky if we do not spot some of these amazing, armoured beasts on a jeep safari. Return to your boat for lunch and enjoy your time at the sundeck. Tonight, stop near the park and be treated to a specially prepared farewell dinner onboard. 
      
    DAY 04: GUWAHATI – DISEMBARK
    Sail downstream to Guwahati in the morning and disembark after breakfast near Uzanbazar Ghat, Guwahati.  

    SUGGESTED UPSTREAM ITINERARY – 03 NIGHTS/04 DAYS
    GUWAHATI – SAULKUCHI – TEZPUR - SILGHAT

    DAY 01 GUWAHATI – PEACOCK ISLAND – ASWAKLANTA TEMPLE – SAULKUCHI 
    Arrive to embark your private and exclusive river houseboat by 10 AM. The boat will be waiting for you near Uzanbazar Ghat, Guwahati and our Manager and his team will meet you with a welcome drink. 
    We shall start by sailing toward the Peacock Island, known to be one of the smallest inhabited river islands of the world. The beautiful Umananda Temple on the island is dedicated to Shiva and his consort Parvati. 
      
    After the Peacock Island visit, come back aboard the cruise boat and start sailing toward Aswaklanta Temple. Located on the North bank of Guwahati, this beautiful early 18th-century temple is built atop a hill offering beautiful scenic views of the Guwahati city on the south bank. After exploring this famous temple site on foot, we shall walk a little distance to visit the nearby Hindu Vaishnavite Monastery of Auniati Satra. 
      
    Return to your boat and sail downstream towards the little town of Sualkuchi and after lunch, visit its silk weaving workshops accompanied by your guide on your mountain bikes to see the whole process of silk manufacture, from cocoon to spinning to dyeing and finally to hand weaving into exquisite saris and dress lengths. Also known as the textile centre of Assam, Sualkuchi is famous for its high-quality Muga, Pat and Eri silk products. Local attires like ‘Mekhela Chador’, ‘Sari’ and ‘Gamosa’ are made from these indigenous silk materials which have a great demand throughout Assam and India. 
      
    After exploring Sualkuchi return to the boat. We will also set to sail upstream. Enjoy the sunset on the sundeck with tea, coffee and snacks served there. The boat will be anchored nearby to a sandbank. Dinner will be served onboard. 
      
    DAY 02 M.V. RUDRA SINGHA 
    Today we sail upstream. After breakfast, disembark and visit a riverside village with your accompanying guide. Return to the boat and continue sailing upstream. While sailing lunch will be served onboard. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the sundeck; enjoy the sunset with a cup of tea or coffee with cookies. The boat will be anchored nearby riverside village. Dinner will be served onboard.  
      
    DAY 03 TEZPUR 
    We will sail up to Tezpur. Post lunch visit Tezpur and explore the 6th century Da Parbatia temple ruins with its beautifully carved portal. Later, visit the Cole Park with its medieval stone carvings saved from sites all over the region, and passing the bungalow once lived in by Alexander Bruce, a pioneer of the tea industry. Our ship will be waiting at the town’s waterfront for us to reboard. Today you will be served specially prepared farewell dinner onboard. 
      
    DAY 04: SILGHAT – DISEMBARK
    On arrival at Silghat disembark after breakfast and drive to Jorhat or Guwahati Airport for your onward journey.
